Manchester United’s 2021/22 Fixture List: When And Where Do Solskjaer’s Team Take On Their Top Six Rivals?

Manchester United’s fixtures for the 2021/22 Premier League season have been released today and they have been handed a pretty kind start to the campaign.

The Red Devils don’t play a ‘top six’ rival until mid-October when they face Leicester away from home, but it is the start of a very intense period where they play six big games in the space of seven league fixtures:

16/10/2021 – Leicester City v Manchester United
23/10/2021 – Manchester United v Liverpool
30/10/2021 – Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester United
6/11/2021 – Manchester United v Manchester City
27/11/2021 – Chelsea v Manchester United
30/11/2021 – Manchester United v Arsenal

From December until the end of February they, once again, go through a long period where they will not have to face any of the other title contenders. The Manchester derby against City at the beginning of March does, however, lead to four successive matches against high-profile opponents:

5/3/2022 – Manchester City v Manchester United
12/3/2022 – Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur
19/3/2022 – Liverpool v Manchester United
2/4/2022 – Manchester United v Leicester City

To finish out the campaign, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side play Arsenal at the end of April and Chelsea in the second to last game of the season:

23/4/2022 – Arsenal v Manchester United
15/5/2022 – Manchester United v Chelsea

A number of these dates could be changed due to television coverage but, all in all, United supporters will be rather happy with how the campaign begins, although the period in October and November could prove to be season-defining.
