Manchester United vs Swansea: Predicted XI

Manchester United face Swansea at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday in a Super Sunday clash. Both sides have endured good starts to the season, with Swansea beating Newcastle and drawing against Chelsea and Sunderland. Manchester United are yet to concede a goal, but scuppered against Newcastle last week with a dismal 0-0 draw.

The Red Devils will look to finish off Swansea on Sunday and keep up with rivals Manchester City at the top of the table, but they will be wary of how much of a danger Swansea carry. The Welsh side did the double over Manchester United last season, with Gary Monk’s side beating Van Gaal’s 2-1 both home and away.

United are likely to be without defender Marcos Rojo in the game, who is still in search of match fitness before being allowed to come back into the first team picture. However, United will be given a boost with the return of Marouane Fellaini who has served his 3 match ban. The midfielder-come-striker was the missing link against Newcastle, with United desperately needing his physicality.

Wayne Rooney is likely to keep his spot as striker for United, after scoring an impressive hat-trick midweek against Club Brugge. Behind him is likely to be Januzaj, who once again started against Brugge. But Ander Herrera may have a case to argue, after the Spaniard impressed in all of the games he has played so far this season, despite finding himself on the bench.

Morgan Schneiderlin will keep his 100% starting role in midfield, and is likely to partner Schweinsteiger.

Here’s how we think United will line up against the Swans:

Romero

Darmian – Smalling – Blind – Shaw

Schneiderlin – Schweinsteiger

Mata – Herrera – Memphis
