Manchester United Vs Real Betis: Match Preview & Injury News

Erik Ten Hag and Manchester United will be looking for a big response against Real Betis in the Europa League after they were completely destroyed by rivals Liverpool at the weekend.

It was a day to forget for United – but they can right some wrongs with a convincing win over the Spanish outfit. However, Betis are no pushovers – they’re enjoying a fruitful season in La Liga and currently find themselves in fifth.

Anthony Martial, Christian Eriksen and Donny Van De Beek will all miss out on United’s clash with Real Betis. Eriksen could return toward the end of the season, while Van De Beek is expected to be out for the remainder of the campaign.

On top of this, Victor Lindelof and Casemiro are both doubts. The two have a 50/50 chance of playing – however, it would not be a surprise to see them both rested.

To get this far, United needed to beat Xavi’s Barcelona in the Europa League knockout round playoffs. Despite drawing the first leg 2-2, United came on strong in the second leg to win the tie overall by a score of 4-3.

Meanwhile, Real Betis got this far by topping their Europa League group. They faced challenges from Ludogorets Razgrad, Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi and Roma (managed by former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho), but were nevertheless able to emerge at the top of the pile.

Last won the Europa League in 2017 – they’re more than capable of winning it this year, but could face stern challenges in the form of Arsenal, Juventus and Sevilla, who are all also still in the competition.
