Manchester United will have to try and avoid distraction as they face a Carabao Cup clash against Leicester City on Wednesday night.
After United sacked Erik Ten Hag, numerous column inches have been dedicated to discussion over who the next United manager will be, but interim boss Ruud Van Nistelrooy will turn his attention to the Leicester game.
Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim has emerged as the favourite to take over from Ten Hag but even if an agreement is made tomorrow, he won’t be in charge for Wednesday’s game.
Van Nistelrooy will lead a Manchester United side that come off the back of a 2-1 loss to West Ham on Sunday and a squad that is ravaged by injury. Harry Maguire, Leny Yoro, Noussair Mazraoui, Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw will all likely miss the game.
Mason Mount and Tyrell Malacia are also in doubt for Wednesday and are most likely not going to feature for the Red Devils.
