Manchester United go into the second game of the season against Brighton following a 1-0 win against Fulham on the opening day. 

The Red Devils opened their account for the season after waiting 87 minutes in the first game for a goal from new signing Joshua Zirkzee.

Their opening-day win has given Erik Ten Hag a solid base to start from, however things don’t get any easier this weekend as United faces a trip to Brighton.

The Seagulls are top of the league after one game thanks to an impressive 3-0 win away at Everton for what was Hurzeler’s first game in charge.

It could be an attacking affair with both sides keen on a high-pressing style of football which could make for an entertaining afternoon at the Amex Stadium.

Brighton vs Manchester United kicks off at 12:30 pm on Saturday 24 August and will be available to watch on BT Sport 1 and BT Sport Ultimate.

Manchester United expected to struggle according to the odds

After a combination of Brighton’s impressive opening day, the Seagulls’ home advantage and United’s injury problems, Brighton are the favourites to win on Saturday.

In somewhat of a shock, Oddschecker has Brighton backed at 6/4 to win and United at just 17/10, giving the Seagulls a higher chance of winning by roughly three per cent.

The bookies expect a close game on Saturday after both teams got off to a good start in the opening round of fixtures. As for our prediction, a 2-2 draw could be likely as both teams will look to get goals in what could be a close affair.
