Manchester United V Wolves – Match Preview And Predicted XI

Manchester United will want to keep up their recent momentum with a fourth straight win against Wolves on Saturday.

After getting off to a good start in the Champions League with a 3-0 away win against Young Boys, they will now return to Old Trafford after three matches away from home.

Nemanja Matic will be suspended for the match after being sent off late on against Watford last time out in the league. Marcus Rashford is also still banned after picking up a three-match suspension for his red card against Burnley.

Captain Antonio Valencia is expected to return to action after being rested against Young Boys to protect his knees from the Swiss club’s plastic pitch. He will have a fight on his hands for the right-back slot after Diogo Dalot impressed on his debut midweek.

Phil Jones (hamstring), Ander Herrera (ankle) and Marcos Rojo (calf) are all still on the treatment table, but the latter is closing in on a first-team comeback.

Luke Shaw will likely retain his place ahead of Ashley Young. The 23-year-old returned to the starting line up on Wednesday after sustaining a concussion on international duty.

For Wolves, Ivan Cavaleiro is their only injury concern. The Portuguese forward hasn’t featured all campaign after sustaining a back injury in pre-season.

Here’s how we think United will line up against Wolves:

de Gea

Valencia, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw

Pogba, Fellaini, Fred

Lingard, Lukaku, Sanchez

Predicted Score – 3-1 to Manchester United
