Manchester United v Watford – Match Preview And Predicted XI

Manchester United v Watford – Match Preview And Predicted XI

Manchester United will want to build on the 2-0 victory they had against Burnley before the international break with a victory versus Watford on Saturday evening.

It won’t be an easy game though with the Hornets still having a 100% record after four games played. The match at Vicarage Road will likely be a tightly contested affair with Javi Gracia’s side having beaten Tottenham at home on their last outing.

In terms of team news, manager Jose Mourinho will decide on whether to play Luke Shaw, who suffered a concussion playing for England in the 2-1 defeat to Spain last week. Phil Jones (hamstring) and Sergio Romero (knee) are unlikely to feature and Ander Herrera (ankle) is out. Marcos Rojo is due to play for the Under 23s tonight and will not be in contention for the weekend.

Marouane Fellaini was not risked by Belgium due to a back injury but is still a doubt, and Marcus Rashford will not be available as he starts his three-match ban after being sent off at Turf Moor.

For Watford, Gerard Deulofeu could be fit for the game against United but Tom Cleverly (Achilles) and Younes Kaboul (foot) are both out injured.

Here’s how we think United will line up against Watford:

De Gea

Valencia, Smalling, Lindelof, Young

Matic, Fellaini, Pogba

Lingard, Lukaku, Sanchez

Predicted Score: 0-1 Manchester United
