Eric Bailly has now missed seven matches with a concussion he suffered whilst on international duty, and there has been no indication as to when he will return to match fitness.

Antonio Valencia is still unavailable for selection due to fitness problems, but Ander Herrera is on the comeback trail from a hamstring injury. The Spaniard could be back in contention for Sunday’s game.

N’Golo Kante had to be substituted against Burnley due to a rib injury but could be back in action this weekend. As could Antonio Rudiger, who has been missing since the defeat to Liverpool with a knee problem.

Marcos Alonso (thigh), Ethan Ampadu (back) and Marco van Ginkel (knee) remain on the treatment table.
