Manchester United V Chelsea: Match Preview And Betting Odds

It has been a good week for Manchester United and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Wins over Newcastle and Paris Saint-Germain have reinstated the feelgood factor around the club following a very disappointing start to the season.

Their opponents at the weekend, Chelsea, have also had mixed fortunes at the start of the campaign, having struggled to find any consistency as Frank Lampard seeks to bed in a number of new signings.

In terms of team news, United will go into the game at Old Trafford with doubts over Harry Maguire (muscular), Jesse Lingard and Mason Greenwood (both knocks). Eric Bailly has been ruled out for a month with a muscular problem, while Phil Jones (knee) is also still missing.

New signing Edinson Cavani should be available, although he is only expected to make the bench with the Uruguayan having played his last competitive game back in February.

Chelsea only have one injury concern going into the game, with midfielder Billy Gilmour still not fit after undergoing knee surgery in the summer. The 19-year-old is expected to be out for another month.

The bookies have made United slight favourites with William Hill pricing them at 29/20 to get the win. A draw is 14/5 with Unibet while a Chelsea victory is currently 9/5 at Betfred.

Predicted Score – 2-2
