‘100000 Percent YES’ ‘We Really Need This Player’ Fans Hope United Can Secure £30M Transfer

Manchester United have held “initial talks” with Monaco about sighing Youssouf Fofana, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

The journalist claims that the France international is one of several alternatives that the Red Devils are pursuing after cooling their interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte.

While some supporters on X are underwhelmed by the prospect of Fofana joining United, the majority believe that he will be a good addition to Erik ten Hag’s squad:

How much will Fofana cost?

It is believed that Monaco are currently holding out for £30m but it remains to be seen whether they will lower that valuation considering the 25-year-old has less than a year left on his contract.

Other teams, such as AC Milan, Arsenal and West Ham have been credited with an interest in Fofana, so Monaco may feel that there is enough competition to maintain the price they’re asking for.

United are also targeting four other midfielders

Sheth reports that the Red Devils are interested in Palmeiras’ Richard Rios, Burnley’s Sander Berge, Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi and former loanee Sofyan Amrabat as potential alternatives to Fofana.

There is also still a possibility that the Manchester club could go back in for Ugarte if PSG decide to lower the demands but Fofana seems to be the preferred candidate at the moment.
