Manchester United are aiming to sign a striker in the summer transfer window as they look to improve their squad under Ruben Amorim. 

The Red Devils have had serious problems with scoring goals this season, with strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee combining for just five Premier League goals between them.

With Marcus Rashford out of the club at Aston Villa, Amorim will be keen to sign someone in summer that can provide his team with goals.

They have been heavily linked to signing Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres and re-uniting him with Amorim, however, the Sweden international is expected to cost a hefty fee, so Manchester United might want to look for an alternative.

Both Manchester United and Arsenal were linked with Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic in Janaury, and United could re-ignite their interest in him in summer, with suggestions of a possible swap deal.

According to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb, Manchester United winger Antony has attracted Juventus’ attention so far whilst he’s been out on loan at Real Betis. The Brazilian left for Spain in January after becoming a flop at United following an £85m transfer to Old Trafford in 2022 from Ajax.

Since moving to Betis, Antony has made four La Liga appearances, scoring two goals and two assists, which better his numbers at United for the entire first half of the season.

Manchester United could swap Antony for Vlahovic

Seeing as it looks nailed on that there is no future for Antony under Amorim, the Red Devils could look to solve their striker crisis by selling him to Juventus in exchange for Vlahovic.

The Serbian has scored nine goals in 20 Serie A games for the Italian side this season, but looks set to move in the summer due to a lack of consistent game time despite his impressive performances.

United would have to battle Arsenal for his signature, but it seems more likely as though the Gunners will go after either Alexander Isak or Benjamin Sesko as they aim to win a league title next season.
