“It’s A Bit Daunting”: Ex-Premier League Attacker Still Unsure On £36.5M Manchester United Signing

Former Premier League attacker Bolo Zenden has said that Manchester United attacker Joshua Zirkzee is taking a while to settle in at Old Trafford.

Manchester United are currently 15th in the Premier League and struggling under manager Ruben Amorim. They lost 1-0 to Tottenham in their last match, and are the fifth-lowest scoring team in the Premier League this season.

United have been linked to signing a striker, as Sporting CP man Viktor Gyokeres and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen have both been touted as potential solutions for Amorim.

However, Manchester United signed a striker in the summer in the form of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna. They paid over £36m for the Dutchman, but he is yet to find his form, as he has scored just three goals in 25 Premier League games.

Ex-Liverpool and Chelsea attacker Bolo Zenden has said that United’s poor form won’t be helping Zirkzee to settle in at the club. He told ManUNews via casinoscout.nl: “It’s taken Zirkzee a little bit of time. Several things are going a bit against him, of course.

“There’s a lot of pressure from the fans because United is 15th in the league and that also makes it harder for a new player to settle in.”

Zenden was quick to blame manager Amorim for his man-management of players at United, which he says will have made the task more ‘daunting’ for Zirkzee.

“Apparently Amorim said to his players, don’t look at the table, just look at the performances. It’s a bit daunting, it’s disappointing and it’s not cheering up the dressing room when you’re so far away from European football, let alone Champions League football.

“It’s another tough season again for United and that doesn’t make it easier for Zirkzee.”

Manchester United begin scouting Zirkzee alternative

Despite the fact that Joshua Zirkzee has only been at the club for less than a year, United have already began scouting Galatsaray striker Victor Osimhen with a view to a possible summer transfer.

However, due to the fact that the Nigerian is on a wage of £200,000 per week, and likely won’t reduce it, United may have to sell a few players in order to afford him with PSR rules bearing down.

If Zirkzee is able to improve in the back half of the season, their interest in Osimhen could cool down, although the Dutchman will need to improve fast as the Nigerian has been linked to Arsenal and Chelsea too.
