Manchester United have “watched” Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush this campaign, according to TBRFootball.
The Egyptian international, who has been compared to his fellow countryman Mo Salah, has been in phenomenal form, having hit the back of the net 10 times in 10 appearances.
Marmoush can play both as a central striker and a winger, with Frankfurt having selected him in both positions since the beginning of the season.
It is believed that the Bundesliga club will demand at least £50m to sell the player in a future transfer window.
United are not the only club keeping an eye on him
TBR reports that the Red Devils and Chelsea have joined the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid in scouting Marmoush.
However, Frankfurt are in no rush to offload the 25-year-old in January and it is thought that there will be no push for a transfer from the player or his entourage either.
Marmoush will not be a priority target
Manager Erik ten Hag is not short of numbers in the positions that the Egyptian plays in. Both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee can be deployed through the middle, while Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho offer enough cover on the left flank.
If United do go into the market for a forward, it will be to strengthen their options on the opposite wing. Antony’s future at Old Trafford is in doubt and there is speculation that the Brazilian will be allowed to leave on loan in the New Year.
With that being the case, Marmoush would not be top of the list of potential replacements. A left-footed right winger would be the priority. Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi and Southampton’s Tyler Dibling are two of the names that have been mentioned in recent weeks.
