Manchester United have agreed on a deal with PSG to sign Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte for a fee of £42.2m.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on Tuesday morning on X announcing that he will travel to Old Trafford which has always been the 23-year-old’s first-choice club.
Negotiations have been ongoing for United to land Ugarte all summer long with the transfer finally confirmed just four days before the transfer deadline.
Erik Ten Hag has now made five signings this summer adding Leny Yoro, Matthis De Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Joshua Zirkzee.
United fans reacted to the news by taking to X.

How will Manuel Ugarte fit in at Manchester United?
Ugarte is a natural defensive midfielder who likes to win the ball and hold it up before playing as one of the attackers. He plays with physicality similar to Casemiro but isn’t even at his peak yet.
The Uruguayan will likely slot in alongside Kobbie Mainoo causing Casemiro to get dropped to the bench.
But with rumours of Casemiro’s uncertain future at Old Trafford, Ugarte will provide a more consistent and long-term option in midfield for Erik Ten hag.
