Manchester United have reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Manuel Ugarte, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Writing on his X account, Romano revealed that the Red Devils will secure the services of the Uruguayan international on a permanent basis, paying an initial €50m (£42.2m) for the player:
🚨🔴 Manuel Ugarte to Manchester United, here we go! Deal sealed between clubs after personal terms agreed in July.
€50m fixed fee plus €10m add-ons will be the final package.
Ugarte will travel to Manchester as he ONLY wanted United… and United only wanted him.

As Romano mentions, United are set to pay €10m (£8.46m) in add-ons, which means the transfer could end up costing in excess of £50m.
It’s taken lengthy negotiations to seal Ugarte’s signature
It was first reported last month that the Red Devils had agreed personal terms with the 23-year-old but the Manchester club were initially unwilling to meet PSG’s asking price.
The Ligue One champions were always insistent that they wanted to get the €60m back which they paid Sporting Lisbon for the player last summer.
If the add-ons are triggered, they will get their money, but the deal also allows United to pay less upfront so it seems to be a satisfactory compromise.
Are United likely to sign anyone else?
After bringing in the likes of Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui for fees totalling around £140m, the club’s spending will go above £180m following Ugarte’s arrival.
The transfer kitty is now empty so the focus for the final few days of the transfer window will be to balance the books. Scott McTominay could join Napoli, while buyers need to be found for the likes of Jadon Sancho and Christian Eriksen.
