Manchester United Submit Bid For £25m-Rated Full Back Who Can Replace Luke Shaw

Manchester United have reportedly submitted an offer for Fenerbahce full-back Ferdi Kadioglu.

The Red Devils lost Luke Shaw to injury in a fresh update which is expected to keep him sidelined until at least mid-September.

They have identified Kadioglu as a target who could replace injury-prone Shaw at a relatively budget price with the full-back valued at around £25m.

According to SportWitness, United have tabled an offer for the Turkish full back forcing Fenerbahce to decide amid a similar bid from Premier League rivals Brighton.

The report suggests that United’s offer guarantees more money, but the Seagulls’ offer is worth more after add-ons. It could become a decision based on where Kadioglu wants to play more.

With Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw and Leny Yoro all facing injury in Erik Ten Hag’s defence, he will be hoping that the Turkish defender decides to move to Old Trafford.

Who is Ferdi Kadioglu?

Ferdi Kadioglu is a 24-year-old full-back who plays mainly on the left-hand side. He joined Fenerbahce in 2018 from Eredivisie side NEC Nijmegen where he came through the academy.

The move cost Fenerbahce just £1.2m so considering a value of £25m has been touted, the Turkish side has done a good bit of business on the left-back.

Kadioglu has 20 caps for Turkey’s national team and has made over 200 appearances in the six years he has been at Fenerbahce.

Manchester United face injury woes

Just in defence alone, the Red Devils are missing Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro, and Tyrell Malacia with doubts surrounding Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof.

It may force Erik Ten Hag to spend more money and try to improve depth at the back. United faces Liverpool, Spurs and Aston Villa in their first seven games, and he won’t want a lacklustre defensive line.
