Manchester United have “inquired” about the availability of Atalanta midfielder Ederson, according to SportItalia reporter Alfredo Pedulla.
The journalist says that the Red Devils had a meeting with Atalanta to register their interest in the Brazilian, although they have not tabled a bid.
Supporters on X believe that Ederson would be an excellent signing for the club, although they don’t want to pay over the odds like they did for another Atalanta player, Rasmus Hojlund:
I like him

Ederson would certainly strengthen ten Hag’s midfield options
The 25-year-old played a key role as Atalanta won the Europa League last season. He was particularly impressive in the final against Bayer Leverkusen.
With manager Erik ten Hag keen to bring in a replacement for Sofyan Amrabat, Ederson would fit the bill, although you do question where the money would come from to fund the transfer.
United are currently focused on recruiting Ugarte
While Ederson seems to be on the club’s radar, it doesn’t look like he is the top priority. Negotiations are reportedly ongoing with Paris Saint-Germain about a loan deal for Manuel Ugarte.
It is believed talks centre around the fee in the mandatory purchase clause. PSG are still holding out for around €60m (£51m) while United are hoping to secure the services of the Uruguayan international for less than €50m (£42.6m).
