‘Great Signing’ ‘Baller’ United Fans Excited By Prospect Of Securing Barca Star On Free Transfer Next Month

Manchester United have taken a “keen interest” in Barcelona attacking midfielder Dani Olmo, according to reports.

The Spanish international could become available on a free transfer next month if Barca fail to find a way to register the player and the Daily Mail report that the Red Devils, Manchester City and Arsenal are monitoring the situation.

Olmo moved from RB Leipzig for £50m in the summer transfer window but he was only given a temporary registration by La Liga, who want Barcelona to cut down their spending. If a resolution can’t be found, Olmo could leave for nothing, and United fans on X would be keen to see him make the switch to Old Trafford:

Olmo’s agent has added fuel to the fire

The 26-year-old is said to be keen on staying at the Camp Nou but his agent Andy Bara has flown to Manchester in recent days. When asked by the Daily Mail about his decision to travel to the UK, Bara replied that he is simply on his “holidays”.

It is not a particularly believable excuse and it will only add to speculation that United and/or City are having talks about signing Olmo.

He would be a perfect fit for United’s system

Head coach Ruben Amorim likes to have no.10s in his front three. Pedro Goncalves had a lot of success when deployed in that role at Sporting Lisbon, and Bruno Fernandes has been selected to play in a similar position over recent weeks.

Olmo has played either as a winger or as an attacking midfielder for most of his career so he could slot in up front without any issues whatsoever.
