‘Confirmed Sooner Rather than Later’ – Source Suggests United Are Poised To Sign Arsenal Goal Machine

Manchester United’s move to sign Arsenal forward Chido Obi-Martin will be “confirmed sooner rather than later”, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The Red Devils were set to secure the player’s services several weeks ago but there have been delays due to a lengthy ratification process.

Obi-Martin’s age means that the Premier League are going through the paperwork with a fine-tooth comb but United are confident that everything has gone through the proper channels.

The Denmark youth international’s contract at Arsenal had expired, and the MEN believe that “an agreement was struck” with the player and his entourage back in July.

What do United fans need to know about Obi-Martin?

There is a lot of hype surrounding the 16-year-old, mainly because he has scored so many goals in youth team football.

Obi-Martin hit the back of the net 32 times in just 18 league appearances for Arsenal’s Under 18s last season. Despite his age, the Gunners were already handing him game time at Under 21 level.

For his country, the teenager has also excelled. Despite not having a club officially, he scored in only his second cap for Denmark’s Under 18s against Norway in a 5-3 victory earlier this month.

2 other youth players have joined the Under 18s

As well as the impending arrival of Obi-Martin, United have been busy snapping up other youngsters. The latest signings are James Overy and Samuel Lusale.

The former is a fullback who was playing for Australian A-League outfit Perth Glory, and he has joined on a scholarship. Lusale, meanwhile, has put pen to paper on a similar deal.

He’s a winger who has been capped by Slovakia at Under 17 level. He had been at Crystal Palace’s academy before the Red Devils secured his signature. Both are expected to feature for the Under 18s this campaign.
