‘Jose Is No Mug’ ‘Don’t Blame Him’ Fans React As New Twist Emerges In United Player’s Move To Turkey

Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho is “not interested” in recruiting Manchester United winger Antony, according to the Manchester Evening News.

There had been speculation that the Super Lig side could sign the Brazilian international on loan before the Turkish transfer window closes on September 13th.

However, MEN have confirmed that Fenerbahce will not make an approach for Antony, who has played just one minute of first-team football so far this season. Fans on X are not surprised by Mourinho’s decision:

Antony is struggling to get game time

Rumours about a potential move away from Old Trafford have been prompted by the fact that manager Erik ten Hag has barely used the Brazilian since the beginning of the campaign.

Amad Diallo is currently ahead of Antony and, based on performances, the Ivorian’s position in the pecking order is entirely on merit.

United need to maintain depth on the wings

It should be pointed out that, if Antony is allowed to leave, United would have no way of replacing the 24-year-old. It would give ten Hag fewer options out wide.

At the moment, the Dutchman has four players who can play as wingers: Diallo, Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Antony. Jadon Sancho joined Chelsea on Deadline Day, Facundo Pellistri was sold to Panathinaikos and Anthony Martial left on a free transfer earlier this summer.
