‘£70M Or Nothing’ ‘If We Sell To Chelsea, I Am Done’ United Fans React As Romano Makes New Transfer Claim

Chelsea are “set to approach” Manchester United to begin negotiations over signing Alejandro Garnacho, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The journalist claims that the Blues have already had discussions with the player’s representatives and they are now ready to press ahead with formal talks with the Red Devils.

Fans on X are split on whether they want to sell Garnacho to a Premier League rival, with some prepared to do business if the club receive a high enough bid, while others are not convinced:

Amorim refused to be drawn on Garnacho’s future before the Rangers game

Speak in his pre-match press conference prior to the Europa League clash versus Rangers, head coach Ruben Amorim said he would not comment on the Argentinian international’s situation:

“As I understand the question, let’s focus on the game. I don’t want to talk about that, especially before a game.”

“Our focus is that our players are here to play, we need to improve, we need to win games to have that feeling of winning, it’s really important for us so let’s focus on that.”

Why are United open to selling?

Garnacho is a youth team player so his sale would go down as pure profit on the balance sheet, helping the club free up funds for transfers this month.

When you also consider that he isn’t an ideal fit for Amorim’s front three, he does seem to be a good candidate to be offloaded, as long as the Red Devils receive a decent transfer fee.
