REPORT: Manchester United Target ‘Desperately’ Wants Transfer Move

Manchester United have allegedly contacted Harry Kane recently, telling him to put in a transfer request at Tottenham Hotspur if he wishes to move to Old Trafford in the summer [via The Sun].

Kane reportedly ‘desperately’ wants a move to Manchester United in the transfer window, if The Sun’s report is to be believed. Despite this, Spurs are very unwilling to let him leave the club – despite his contract expiring at the end of June 2024.

Spurs risk losing Kane on a free transfer if they do not move him on in the summer. It seems like the perfect time for them to sell him – but they will reportedly not let him leave the club for anything less than £100 million.

This is a lot to pay for a player who is swiftly approaching 30 years old – moreover, Kane’s injury record is far from perfect. The acquisition of Kane would not be risk-free, especially when the amount of money that Spurs are demanding is taken into consideration.

Who else, besides Manchester United, are interested in a move for Harry Kane?

Currently, Harry Kane, arguably the most coveted centre-forward in the world. As such, there are several high-profile football clubs who are pursuing his signature.

Aside from Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, PSG and Bayern Munich have all been linked with a move for England’s all-time leading goalscorer. Nevertheless, the Red Devils still appear to be leading the pack to bring Kane to the club in the ongoing summer transfer window.

What would Harry Kane add to the squad?

It cannot be overstated just how great of an addition Harry Kane would be to Manchester United’s playing staff. United currently lack a world-class natural striker – and Kane is one of the best centre-forwards in the world at this current moment.

Not only is he a brilliant finisher who possesses extremely intelligent movement off the ball, Kane is also a fantastic playmaker – his passing and vision would make most midfielders blush.

The only thing that Kane lacks is pace – despite this, United’s rapid wingers should be able to make up for his deficiencies in this department.
