Manchester United turn their attention away from the Premier League this week as they face a Europa League match against Czech side Viktoria Plzen. 

The Red Devils come off the back of a disappointing 3-2 defeat to Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford which is United’s second loss in a row.

Ruben Amorim will want to get back to winning ways before they will then quickly turn their attention to Sunday when they face a Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium.

They play in the Europa League on Thursday night against a Viktoria Plzen side who sit on the same number of points as them in the table.

Both sides have nine points after five games and are just one point off the top-eight places which will provide a place in the next round without having the play a playoff.

United are cautiously backed to beat Viktoria Plzen

The Red Devils go into the game as the far superior team on paper. However, their recent form has been poor meaning that the bookmakers are cautiously backing them to win.

According to Oddschecker, United are 6/10 favourites to win on Thursday giving them a 62.5% chance of getting three points.

Meanwhile, Viktoria Plzen are backed to win at 19/4 (17.4%) and a draw is backed at 17/5 (22.7%). We predict a 3-1 win for Amorim’s side as they get back to winning ways ahead of the Manchester derby.
