Manchester United prepare to face League One side Barnsley in the Carabao Cup Third Round on Tuesday night as they search for another trophy under Erik Ten Hag.
The Red Devils come off the back of an impressive 3-0 win over Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium where goals from Matthijs De Ligt, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho gave them three points.
United will now look for their first piece of silverware in the Carabao Cup as they aim for a spot in the fourth round having to overcome underdogs Barnsley.
The Tykes are in League One and three points off the top of the league as they aim to return to the Championship with a promotion season, however, they will want to cause a shock at Old Trafford.
Luke Shaw is still injured and looks set to miss Tuesday’s game however new signing Manuel Ugarte could be in line to make his first start in red.
Manchester United heavily favoured against Barnsley
Unsurprisingly the betting odds are much in favour of Erik Ten Hag’s side who not only have a much stronger squad but also hold the home advantage.
According to Oddschecker, Manchester United are 1/4 to win which gives them an 80% chance of winning whereas Barnsley are backed at 12/1 and a draw at 5/1.
We predict that United make it two 3-0 wins in a row and begin to gather momentum against a Barnsley side that is likely to struggle.
