REPORT: Manchester United Among Clubs ‘Courting’ Wonderkid Striker Available For Under £5 Million

Manchester United are thought to be interested in a move for Gambian striker Adama Bojang, according to a recent report from Sky Sports Germany.

Bojang currently plays in his native country for Steve Biko FC – his impressive performances for both his club and his country have earned him the nickname of ‘the Gambian Hurricane’. Should United succeed in their quest to bring him to Old Trafford, they will hope that this isn’t a load of hot air.

Branded as a ‘miracle striker’, Bojang is swiftly catching the eye of clubs from across the globe – United are not the only interested party as things stand.

Who else is interested in a move for Adama Bojang?

Aside from United, both Eintracht Frankfurt and RC Strasbourg are thought to be interested in a move for Bojang. Of these three, United would seem to have the clear edge – not only are they the biggest club of the trio, they will also be able to offer Bojang Champions League football next season.

Nevertheless, it is unclear as to where the 19-year-old’s preferred destination is at this point. Furthermore, the other two may offer him a more prominent position in the first team than United would be able to.

What would Adama Bojang bring to Manchester United?

A powerful, pacy forward, Bojang is a player whose physical attributes are well beyond his years. He stands at 6ft 3 and is also lightning quick, making him a very dangerous centre-forward.

He is also a composed finisher in front of goal – so far, he has scored six goals in seven appearances for The Gambia’s U20s outfit.

Despite this, if the Red Devils do decide to complete a permanent deal for Bojang, they will also need to sign another striker alongside him in the summer. While obviously a supremely talented forward, he is far from the finished product at this primordial stage in his career.

United cannot rely on him to be their focal point next season – nor can they rely on him to be their primary source of goals. He is simply too young – nevertheless, he will be an excellent backup option.
