Manchester United Say Goodbye To Nani

Manchester United say goodbye to one of the most spectacular players to ever set foot on Old Trafford. Even though he only offered a small glimpse of what he is capable of, Nani had his moments while playing for United. The Portuguese international now turned 28 has faded along the way and has disappointed repeatedly even after being many chances to prove that he is indeed just as good as Ronaldo. Unfortunately, injuries and inconsistent form kept him from ever reaching his full potential and have clearly taken a toll on the player’s morale.

With a weakish constitution Nani could not keep up with the rigours of the league and slowly disappeared from consideration in the minds of the recent United managers. The move to Fenerbahçe is a new beginning for him as a permanent 3 year contract was signed with the Turkish side. According to the BBC, he was sold for £4.25m which is a quarter of what he was worth three years ago when his demise began.

A fresh start with Fenerbahçe is the perfect move for him. He should be on an ascending trend in Turkey and he will likely be loved by some of the most fanatic supporters in the world. It is a pity United fans did not get the chance to see more of this player who was expected to take the torch from Ronaldo and become the next big thing at Old Trafford.
