Manchester United Reportedly Prepared To Pay Spanish International’s £134m Release Clause

Manchester United are prepared to pay Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez’s release clause, according to reports in Spain.

The Spanish international has a buyout fee of €150m (£134m) which would have to be met if the Red Devils wanted to sign the player in the summer.

However, United will not be the only club interested in signing Saul. Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City are also believed to be weighing up moves for the 23-year-old.

The midfielder has been in excellent form at the start of this season and scored a crucial goal for Atletico to help the La Liga side beat their city rivals Real to secure the UEFA Super Cup last month.

Saul grabbed the headlines once again last week when he scored the equalising goal for Spain in the 2-1 win over England in their opening Nations League fixture. He then scored in the 6-0 mauling of World Cup finalists Croatia a few days later.
