Manchester United Reportedly Make £36m Offer For Brazilian Playmaker

Manchester United have made the first move by making a bid for Flamengo attacking midfielder Lucas Paqueta, according to reports in Spain.

Barcelona, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City are also said to be interested in the 21-year-old, but United are believed to have offered €40m (£36m) for the player.

Paqueta, reportedly has a €50m release clause and Flamengo may look to hold out for that figure in the January transfer window.

He broke into Flamengo’s first team back in 2016 and has become the Brazilian club’s most influential player despite his relatively young age.

The Brazilian made his senior international debut during the last international break, coming on as a substitute in two friendlies against the USA and El Salvador earlier this month.

His call-up came off the back of an excellent season playing for Flamengo. He has so far made 28 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals and providing four assists.
