Manchester United Predicted XI vs Newcastle

Manchester United take on Newcastle United at Old Trafford tomorrow. The Red Devils will look to make it three straight wins in the Premier League and continue their 100% winning form. Newcastle have managed a point from their opening two games, and have lost 7 consecutive away games.

The game will see the return of a certain Steve McClaren. Now manager of Newcastle, the former England boss spent two-and-a-half years as assistant manager to Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United from 1999 to 2001, winning all there is to win.

Manchester United will look to build on their performance vs Club Brugge, where they won 3-1 courtesy of Memphis Depay’s brilliance. So far United’s defence looks fairly solid, but some of Newcastle’s new faces look like they could pose a threat to the Red Devils’ 100% clean sheet record.

Manchester United have won their last three meetings with the Magpies, scoring eight goals and conceding just one. McClaren’s side will know they face a tough challenge, and they could be without Moussa Sissoko for the game as well as defender Daryl Janmaat.

Manchester United have no new injury concerns. They will be without Phil Jones for another couple of weeks, and Marouane Fellaini’s 3 match suspension will expire after the game. Marcos Rojo could feature on the bench.

Here’s how we think United will line-up vs Newcastle United:

Romero

Darmian Smalling Blind Shaw

Schneiderlin Schweinsteiger

Mata Januzaj Depay

Rooney

We believe Manchester United will stick with the same back 5 as they have all season, with Romero starting in goal, and the 4 defenders in front of him unchanged. Schweinsteiger could be in line for his first start, and Adnan Januzaj’s impressive start to the season could earn him another call-up. Wayne Rooney will be desperate to add goals to his game, he is more than likely to start up front again, with Chicharito always a very good option from the bench.
