Manchester United Predicted XI vs Aston Villa

Manchester United face a trip to Villa Park tonight in the hope of maintaining their good start to the league. The Red Devils overcame Spurs at Old Trafford in a 1-0 win, albeit being in a rather dull game. Now Aston Villa stand in the way of a second successive win, something that would give United great confidence going into their Champions League Qualifier.

Villa have bolstered their squad with some brilliant signings so far this summer and look almost certain to not be down among the bottom sides once again. Just today the side completed the signing of Traore from Barcelona, a hugely exciting prospect for the club.

As for Manchester United, Louis van Gaal has confirmed that David De Gea will once again miss out on a place in the squad, hinting that Romero is set to begin the game once again. There are no fresh injuries to report for United, only Phil Jones is on the sidelines due to injury, and Marcos Rojo look set to miss the game due to match-fitness concerns.

Here’s how we think Manchester United will line-up vs Aston Villa:

Romero

Darmian – Smalling – Blind – Shaw

Carrick – Schneiderlin – Schweinsteiger

Mata – Rooney – Depay

United could start by playing 4-3-3, a formation LvG has previously hinted playing.

The back 5 should remain the same as the force that kept a clean sheet vs Spurs, with Blind retaining his place as LCB.

As for the midfield, Carrick and Schneiderlin’s partnership looks set to be joined up with the German Bastian Schweinsteiger who could make his full debut today. What a midfield that could turn out to be.

Up front Wayne Rooney, Memphis Depay and Juan Mata look set to keep their place in the squad – just with a few changes positionally. Schweinsteiger’s involvement would cost Ashley Young his place in the side, with Memphis Depay filling in on the left which is his favoured position.
