Manchester United plotting summer swoop for Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish

Manchester United are preparing to launch a summer bid for Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, according to reports.

Grealish enjoyed a fine season with Villa, however missed out on promotion back to the Premier League after losing the play-off final to Fulham last week.

However the 22-year-old could be offered a route back into England’s top flight through Manchester United, who are keen to land the promising youngster.


Jose Mourinho is understood to be a big admirer of Grealish, and could bring him to Old Trafford to help rejuvenate his frontline after yet another disappointing season.

The Villa star could become United’s second signing of the summer, with the club expected to announce the addition of Brazil international Fred in the coming days.

Fred, who plays for Shakhtar Donetsk, flew into England earlier this week with the Brazil national side, and is expected to use his time in the UK to finalise a deal that will take him to Old Trafford before the World Cup begins this summer.

United are expected to fork out over £40 million for the 25-year-old midfielder, with Shakhtar adamant to get the most amount of money they can for a player they consider key the club’s future success.
