Wes Brown Says Ruben Amorim Has Transformed “Unbelievable” Manchester United Talent

Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown has said that Ruben Amorim has helped Amad  Diallo turn into a star.

Diallo was the outstanding player in the Manchester derby over the weekend when Manchester United beat City 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

The winger won the penalty that gave Bruno Fernandes the chance to equalise in the 88th minute before he scored the winning goal just two minutes later to silence the City faithful.

Diallo has been playing a wing-back role under new manager Amorim and has become one of United’s most crucial first-team players.

He has made 14 Premier League appearances this season, scoring two goals and contributing six assists.

Former United defender Wes Brown was full of praise for Diallo, he told 10Bet: “Amad’s so sharp. He’s actually got us a few goals this season just by his high intensity, pressuring the defenders. I think that’s the way Amorim wants to play.

“He’s not a defender, but he tracks back. I’m not saying he’s going to be making unbelievable tackles, but he’s in place, he’s where he’s supposed to be.

“I think he’s starting to get respect from defenders now because they’re actually dropping off him now.  I’m just so happy he’s doing really well. I’m guessing the manager’s been really impressed by him.”

Amad Diallo’s new role under Ruben Amorim

Diallo has always played as a winger during his youth career and time at Sunderland on loan last year. However, Amorim has been playing him in more of a defensive role.

The wing-back has become a key part of United’s attacking moves due to his pace and ability on the ball. He has created chances for the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford to hurt the opposition.

Brown’s praise of Diallo comes as no surprise considering the form of the 22-year-old. He will only get better and Amorim will be pleased that he has been able to unlock the skills of Amad Diallo.
