Ruben Amorim is likely to be in charge when Manchester United face Chelsea this weekend, according to Record.
The Portuguese publication report that the 39-year-old could travel to the UK today to be officially announced as the Red Devils’ next head coach.
INEOS and the board have moved swiftly to appoint Amorim and supporters on X are delighted with the club’s decisiveness:

Van Nistelrooy will be in charge for the Leicester match
Interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy will be in the dugout as United face Leicester City in the last 16 of the Carabao Cup.
Many anticipated that the Dutchman would have the chance to prove his credentials on the sidelines and state his case for being made manager on a permanent basis. However, the club have already made up their mind on who they want.
What should United fans expect from Amorim?
The Portuguese coach tends to play three at the back, which will be a big change from Erik ten Hag, who was very much wedded to the four-man backline.
Amorim’s teams also press high and play with a lot of energy, which is not something we have seen often under ten Hag either. We shall have to wait and see whether he can have an immediate impact if he takes charge against Chelsea.
