Erik ten Hag is “highly likely” to remain in charge of Manchester United beyond the international break, according to SamC.
The journalist, who works for the United Stand, claims that the Dutchman will be given more time to turn things around.
Unsurprisingly, the news hasn’t gone down with the majority of fans on X. Many were hoping that ten Hag would be relieved of his duties by INEOS and the board:
INEOS are jokers

It’s been 18 months of pain and zero progress , he’s not been able to inject any positives this season (yet) why is he confident he can go one better ? Anyways he stays fighting let’s wait to hear from the bosses then

The news has not been confirmed by other sources
It should be emphasised that other journalists have yet to corroborate this story at the time of writing but, based on the fact that no news emerged from the board meeting on Tuesday, it does seem likely that ten Hag has escaped the axe.
There had been stories that the Red Devils were eyeing former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel as a potential replacement, but it appears there was no basis for that particular rumour.
United have 7 games between October and the November international break
Ten Hag’s future is expected to depend on the results he gets in his next seven fixtures. United will take on Brentford, Fenerbahce, West Ham, Leicester (in the Carabao Cup), Chelsea, PAOK and Leicester again (in the league) over the next month.
Most of those matches are “winnable” but, based on the team’s current form, nothing should be taken for granted.
