Manchester United Looking To Extend Contracts Of Two Key Players

Manchester United are reportedly looking to extend the contracts of Marcus Rashford and Diogo Dalot, according to Fabrizio Romano in a post on Twitter.

In Romano’s tweet, he wrote: “Manchester United are planning to insist for Marcus Rashford new contract — it’s top priority for Erik ten Hag & the board.

“Talks will continue also with Diogo Dalot who’s considered key part of the project.”

Both players have enjoyed good form this season, regularly finding themselves on the first team sheet – especially Marcus Rashford.

Rashford has been nothing short of sensational for United this season. His pace, dribbling and finishing have all improved tremendously – he’s been one of the best players in the Premier League so far this year. In total, Rashford has scored 24 goals for United this season, alongside eight assists.

As well as being arguably United’s best player this season, he is also their top goalscorer in the Premier League, with a goal tally of 14 so far. Rashford was linked with a move to PSG briefly in the summer but it’s clear United want to lock down the England man to a long term deal.

With a massive 5 matches coming up for United Vs Barca in the Europa League play-off, Newcastle in the Carabao Cup Final, West Ham in the FA Cup at home, before travelling to Anfield to face a seemingly rejuvenated Liverpool team in the Premier League and then a TBC game Vs Southampton also in the League, manager ten Hag will need Rashford and his other key men like Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro to be at their best.

Dalot, while less spectacular than Rashford, has nevertheless been very impressive. He has begun to thrive under the guidance of Erik Ten Hag, to the point where he has become the Red Devils’ first choice right back. So far, the Portuguese defender has scored one goal and racked up three assists in all competitions.

While he faces stern competition from Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who is usually deployed in games where United are expected to be on the defensive, Dalot seems to be holding down his shirt for now.
