Manchester United launch late £35 million bid for Barcelona star

Manchester United have launched a £35 million bid for Barcelona’s Yerry Mina, according to reports.

United have tabled the offer as they look to fend off interest from both Everton and Lyon for the Colombian international, and are confident the 23-year-old will choose them over the other clubs.

The Red Devils saw talks over a potential deal for Mina break down last week after a dispute with the player’s agent over a snag in the contact.

However after failing to find a suitable alternative, United have set aside their differences and made one final play for the Barcelona star.

Mina will be offered a five-year deal deal at Old Trafford worth around £6 million, and is expected to walk straight into Jose Mourinho’s first team, with the Portuguese boss desperate to add a central defender before the start of the new campaign.

The young defender’s proposed switch will in turn end any hopes of United landing either Harry Maguire or Toby Alderweireld, both of whom have been heavily linked with a move to Manchester in recent weeks.

Mina scored three goals as Colombia reached the last-16 at this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
