Manchester United have joined Liverpool and Chelsea in pursuing Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic, according to reports in Germany.

The American international’s contract expires in 2020 and he has so far turned down talks about signing an extension to his current deal.

Dortmund are reportedly unwilling to let Pulisic leave in January, which is when Chelsea would like a deal to happen,  but they may be more open to the idea of selling at the end of the season.

Reports suggest that the 20-year-old could be available for between €50m (£44.5m) and €60m (£53.4m) in the summer, which could prove to be an attractive proposition for United and their rivals.

There are a couple of reasons why Pulisic could be let go for such a figure. He will only have a year left on his contract in July, but he’s also not nailed down a first team place under manager Lucien Favre this campaign.

The new head coach has favoured Jadon Sancho and Jacob Brunn Larsen in wide areas, leaving the American having to settle for a place on the bench in recent matches.
