It has been a poor first half of the season for Manchester United, who will hope that their fortunes can change after the January transfer window. 

The Red Devils sit 14th in the Premier League table, and are just seven points above the relegation zone. Ruben Amorim has admitted that his side find themselves in a relegation battle.

The United boss was asked about the possibility of Premier League relegation after he watched his side lose 2-0 to Newcastle in what was their fourth defeat in a row. Speaking to BBC Sport, he said: “”I think that it is a possibility. We have to be clear with our fans.”

For all the negativity surrounding United, the club may decide to make some significant changes to their squad during the transfer window, in order to strengthen their position.
