Manchester United defender Tyrell Malacia has been included in the club’s ‘A List’ squad for the Europa League.
It is the biggest indication yet that the Dutchman is close to making a return to match fitness, having missed the whole of last season with a knee injury.
Fans on X are delighted that Malacia could be in contention soon and they are keenly anticipating his first-team comeback:

When was the last time that Malacia played for United?
The 25-year-old made his last appearance for the Red Devils on the final day of the 2022/23 season, playing the full 90 minutes against Fulham in a 2-1 win.
Malacia made one final matchday squad, but he was an unused substitute during the defeat to Manchester City in last year’s FA Cup final. After the campaign ended, he then underwent surgery on a knee problem but complications in his recovery have meant he hasn’t been seen in action since then.
When could the left-back make his return?
Speaking about Malacia’s fitness at the start of August, manager Erik ten Hag said the club were hopeful of having the player back in action within two months.
It means it’s unlikely that the Netherlands international will be available for the first Europa League fixture against FC Twente on September 25th but there is a chance he could be involved versus Porto on October 3rd.
