Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount has picked up a knock, in addition to the head injury he sustained against Tottenham last weekend.
Manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed the reasons why the midfielder was not included in the squad for the Europa League clash versus Porto.
It remains to be seen whether Mount will return to face Aston Villa on Sunday but it’s fair to say that fans on X have lost patience with the player’s fitness problems:

Mount’s injury record since moving to United is shocking
Since moving from Chelsea for £55m in the summer of 2023, the England international has missed 169 days due to injury.
During his whole senior career with Chelsea (from 2019 to 2023), Mount was sidelined for 100 days in total, which demonstrates how much time he has spent on the treatment table over the last 14 months.
Fernandes won his appeal against his red card
It should be pointed out that Mount would have been in line to play against Villa this weekend after captain Bruno Fernandes was given a red card against Spurs.
However, the Portuguese international has won his appeal against a ban and he will be available to take his place in the starting lineup this weekend.
For Mount, though, it is another big setback. His career at Old Trafford has never really got going and you have to wonder whether it ever will.
