Manchester United defender Luke Shaw is getting close to a return from his calf injury after being sidelined since the start of the season.
The England international almost returned in October, but suffered an extra setback in his recovery which has kept him out for several more weeks.
Before leaving the club, Ruud Van Nistelrooy said: “Luke [is] also doing pitch work like he did today. He’s progressing [and will] hopefully [be in] partial team training soon.”
Van Nistelrooy’s last game came against Leicester City, a 3-0 win that Luke Shaw was unable to play in, however, his return is looking to be within the next two weeks.
United’s game against Ipswich at the weekend may come too soon however as he remains in training and recovery.
Expected return date – Sunday 1 December vs Everton (H)
Leny Yoro
Defender Yoro hasn’t made his competitive debut for United yet as he suffered an ankle injury during a pre-season match against Arsenal.
The Frenchman will likely not be ready for Ruben Amorim‘s first match as United boss against Ipswich at the weekend, but he will be on a similar timeline to Shaw.
Yoro was pictured in training before the international break and is working to get back to full fitness. Van Nistelrooy said before he left: “He’s been managed very well after his injury in pre-season. It was obviously going to be a long one. Big moment, first time back in team training. He’ll be back partially over the coming weeks, and we’ll look to get him on board as quick as possible.”
