Manchester United Handed Major Boost As 2 Players Return To Training

Manchester United defender Leny Yoro has joined Mason Mount in returning to team training.

Mount was pictured on the grass at Carrington shortly after the 1-1 draw against his former club Chelsea, while Yoro returned after three months on the sidelines on Wednesday morning.

The teenager, who was signed from Lille for £62m in the summer, broke a bone in his foot during a pre-season game against Arsenal in late July. He has yet to make his competitive debut for United.

It should be noted that Yoro did not complete the full training session on Wednesday, which does suggest that he won’t be in the squad for the games against PAOK Salonika or Leicester City.

When could Yoro make his injury comeback?

From the looks of things, the French defender should be ready to make his first competitive appearance for United right after the international break.

That would consequently mean he could be involved in Ruben Amorim‘s first match in charge against Ipswich Town on November 24th.

Other Manchester United Injury News

As mentioned, Mount is available again, having been sidelined with an unspecified injury since late September. The midfielder has had a nightmare run of fitness problems since joining the club last year. Both Antony (ankle) and Christian Eriksen (knock) are also back in contention.

Speaking ahead of the Europa League tie against PAOK, interim head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy confirmed that Tyrell Malacia is nearing his return to action. The Dutchman has not played since May 2023 due to a serious knee injury.

Harry Maguire is still undergoing rehabilitation on a calf issue which the defender picked up before the last international break against Aston Villa.

Luke Shaw has suffered another setback in his recovery from a leg injury, while Kobbie Mainoo (hamstring) remains on the sidelines.
