Tyrell Malacia

Defender Malacia hasn’t made an appearance for United since the final game of the 2022/23 Premier League season as he has been recovering from a long-term knee injury.

However, the Dutchman is much closer to a return as he has been back in training for over two weeks and could be in line to return against Ipswich after the international break.

Before he left United, Ruud Van Nistelrooy said last week: “He’s been part of team training for a couple of weeks now, fully with no restrictions. It’s good for him to plan game minutes; maybe in the U21s, we have to see.”

Expected return date – Sunday 24 November vs Ipswich Town (A)

Leny Yoro

Yoro was pictured back in United training last week which is a massive step for the French defender who hasn’t made a competitive appearance since joining at Old Trafford in the summer.

He is still recovering from an ankle injury that he suffered in a pre-season game against Arsenal.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy said last week: “He’s been managed very well after his injury in pre-season. It was obviously going to be a long one. Big moment, first time back in team training. He’ll be back partially over the coming weeks, and we’ll look to get him on board as quick as possible.”

Expected return date – Sunday 1 December vs Everton (H)

Luke Shaw

The English left-back suffered a long-term calf injury over the summer and he was due to return before the international break.

However, he suffered a set-back in his recovery late in October and could still remain out for a couple more weeks.

Van Nistelrooy said last week: “Luke [is] also doing pitch work like he did today. He’s progressing [and will] hopefully [be in] partial team training soon.”
