Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is a doubt for this weekend’s game against Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium.
The Portuguese international is currently being assessed over an ankle injury that he suffered whilst on international duty with Portugal against Scotland on Sunday.
Portugal boss Roberto Martinez described the issue as ‘just a little bump’ so it is not expected to be a severe injury for the midfielder.
However, it has put his status in doubt over Saturday’s match against Southampton for which Erik Ten Hag and United will want to bounce back after their 3-0 defeat to Liverpool before the international break.
Expected return date – Saturday 14 September vs Southampton (A)
