Matthijs de Ligt suffered a nasty gash to the head during Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Brentford on Saturday.
The Dutchman was forced to the sidelines on three separate occasions so that the medical staff could tend to the injury. Unfortunately, the player’s absence from the pitch also contributed to United’s opponents scoring from a corner just before half-time.
Even so, de Ligt lasted the full 90 minutes and manager Erik ten Hag has said that the player was not affected by the injury.
It means that the 25-year-old should be in contention to play in United’s next fixture, as long as there are no concerns about concussion.
