Mason Mount is not expected to be back available for selection until March at the very earliest.
The midfielder sustained another muscular injury in the opening minutes of the Manchester derby last month.
After the game, Amorim revealed that Mount would be sidelined for “several weeks” but it looks like it could well be several months.
The 25-year-old has been plagued with injury problems since he arrived from Chelsea at the start of the 2023/24 season.
