Manchester United bosses have sacked Erik Ten Hag after the Dutchman spent over two years at the club. 

Ten Hag was sacked following Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat to West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday after a late penalty from Jarrod Bowen handed the Hammers the victory.

The club said in a statement: “We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future.”

Ten Hag’s assistant manager and former United player Ruud Van Nistelrooy will take over as the interim manager before the club decide on a permanent replacement.
