The Ruben Amorim era has officially begun at Old Trafford as the Portuguese manager is now in the job.
After his initial appointment, Amorim had to wait two weeks before he started at Old Trafford, but he has now completed his first week at the club whilst many of his players are on international duty.
Amorim was appointed following the sacking of Erik Ten Hag after United’s 2-1 defeat to West Ham at the end of October.
In an interview with MUTV, the new United boss made it clear how happy he is to be at the club which has generated excitement with Red Devils fans.
He said: “I think I am where I am supposed to be. You watch on TV and you know that it is big and it’s impressive. When you are here, you can feel it and I think you feel the history. I’m really, really proud to be Manchester United’s coach so it’s amazing. It’s a real honour to be here.
“When we have a game, I’m a different guy, but I really don’t feel the weight. I’m really excited and I’m quite relaxed, you know.”
Manchester United fans took to X to react to Amorim’s comments with a lot of excitement in the fanbase ahead of his first game against Ipswich Town after the international break.

Feels different with Amorim so let’s hope he doesn’t get treated abysmally by media and fans ….don’t ruin what actually feels like a big step forward.

Ruben Amorim’s top priorities at Manchester United
The new United boss will want to fix the team who have only been able to sit 13th after 11 Premier League games which is simply not good enough for a club of the size.
Amorim will need to get the team scoring as Manchester United are currently the fourth-least scoring team in the league ahead of just Everton, Crystal Palace and Southampton.
He will be keen to bring in a couple of new players in January too as he aims to get the team up to the Champions League places which has been set as an optimistic target for the remainder of the season.
