“Big Blow”, “It’s Never Ending”, “He Needs Rest”: Manchester United Fans React To Kobbie Mainoo Injury Update

Manchester United have been plagued by injury since the start of the season with several names looking to miss this weekend.Β

The Red Devils face a home match against Brentford coming off the international break and looking for their first Premier League win in four matches.

However, Erik Ten Hag’s side faces a major blow as midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has been ruled out for a least a month with an injury to his hamstring meaning he could miss at least seven games for Manchester United including Saturday’s clash against Brentford.

Fans have taken to X to react to the news that the 19-year-old will miss significant time.

Manchester United could struggle against Brentford

Kobbie Mainoo is a big blow for Erik Ten Hag and United as the midfielder has been one of the better performing players for the Red Devils so far this season.

The 19-year-old has an instrumental role in Ten Hag’s midfield as they try to play a high pressing game which means the midfield has to win the ball and transition into attack quickly.

Furthermore, United’s record when coming off the international break is poor as they have only won three in 10 games after the October break over the past decade. That is the worst record out of the ‘big six’ teams in the Premier League.

Furthermore, Brentford have scored the same number of goals as league leaders Liverpool and the Red Devils have scored the second-fewest number of goals in the Premier League this season.
