Jadon Sancho of Manchester United celebrated his team’s League Cup final win over Newcastle United at the weekend with a post on Instagram.
In the post, Sancho uploaded a photo which shows him kneeling by the League Cup trophy in the United dressing room alongside Marcus Rashford (who almost scored a goal in the final).

The post currently has just under 1,200,000 likes on Instagram. It has been liked by a number of Sancho’s England compatriots, including West Ham’s Declan Rice, Jude Bellingham and Mason Mount of Chelsea.
Several footballers left a comment on Sancho’s post. A few of them were his United teammates, such as Victor Lindelof and Bruno Fernandes. Fernandes humourously commented: “different gravy this duo.”
Additionally, PSG star Kylian Mbappe also commented on the photo, writing: “Good to see you with the smile.”
In the game against Newcastle, United won the game thanks to two quick fire goals in the first half from Casemiro and Marcus Rashford – the double salvo stunned the Geordies, who failed to find a response.
Sancho himself played a minimal role in the final – he was brought on as an 83rd minute substitution for Antony. As United were looking to see out the game, Sancho wasn’t given much of a chance to find himself in advanced positions, due to the Ten Hag’s focus on defending at that moment in the game.
